Patient Programming
Fall Prevention
Our therapists incorporate the use of our evidence-based approaches such as modern resistive strength training equipment and/or electrical modalities to compliment your recovery and road back to health and wellness. We also incorporate memory and safety strategies in order to reduce the risk of future falls and injuries.
Our physical therapy staff are trained to offer their patients the OTAGO Exercise Program. This evidence-based program is a series of 17 strength and balance exercises delivered by a Physical Therapist in the home that reduces falls between 35 and 40% for frail older adults.
Dementia
Dementia training with our Heads, Hands, and Heart dementia program assists you with meeting the Requirements of Participation (RoP) related to Behavioral Health. Training is available to the interdisciplinary team and to family members prior to transitioning the patient into their individual program. We partner with you to provide this critical training to assure quality and compliance in providing best care interventions to residents with dementia.
Goodcare therapists are certified as Dementia Capable Care Providers.
Cardiopulmonary
Our therapists are educated on the proper dosing of activity, closely monitoring vitals, breathing, and the patient’s response to exercise/activity in order to improve quality of life. When the foundation of breathing is improved, the person can then focus on improving other aspects of physical, social and emotional functioning.
Diagnoses that Goodcare therapists may treat include but are not limited to: Acute Respiratory Failure, Cardiac Arrhythmias, Congestive Heart Failure, COVID-19, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, and Pneumonia.
